One of the main nutrients in poultry diets is soy, however some consumers who have allergies have trouble with it. As a result, the production of poultry fed a diet devoid of soybean has expanded in recent years. The effects of various diets on these birds are yet unknown, despite the fact that customers are increasingly adopting alternative chicken production systems (such as organic, pasture-raised chickens) for ethical grounds.
